Age Groups

Under 11’s

This includes boys and girls from years 4, 5 and 6.

Hotshots Netball Club is registered to play Bee Netball for this age group.

Bee Netball offers the perfect way to get your child out on the court and the program is all about friendship, inclusion, fair play and playing together. These games are played as a 5 a side match where children are rotated around to different positions which gives children the opportunity to develop their skills in all areas of the game.

Under 12’s

Although boys are still able to train at this level league matches are limited to girls from this age upwards, this is for children in year 7.

The game moves to a 7 a side match where there is no strict rotation, girls will still be given the opportunity to play in different positions but this is decided by the coach to get the best mixture of skills.

Under 14’s

This group is for girls from school years 8 and 9 combined, girls will train in a joint group and this is a great opportunity for them to meet new friends and gain new experiences by playing with children from outside of their year group.

Some players from within this group will be given the opportunity to play within an adult league in Ludlow dependent on age (minimum age 13 yrs) and ability, this is a fantastic opportunity that has for many years developed our players to be stronger and more confident netballers, these skills are then transferable to our age specific League matches.

Under 16’s

This group is for girls from school years 10 and 11 combined, girls will continue to be given the opportunity to play in adult leagues in Ludlow and also potentially Hereford where we have had a number of successful teams entered.

Over 16’s

This is the oldest age group that we currently offer at Hotshots Netball club, it is for girls in year 12 up to and including those aged 19 years. Many of our players have progressed through the age groups at Hotshots and have made life long friends, we also continue to welcome new members at this age group.

Training

All of our age groups train on a Thursday evening term time only during the Autumn and Spring term, training takes place across two sites and further information will be given to new members after joining.

Many of our girls are given the opportunity to attend strength and conditioning training during holidays to continue their development. These sessions are offered locally by a qualified personal trainer and take place in small groups. The importance of fitness, strength and conditioning training has been recognised by England Netball and played a particularly important role in the return to the court following Covid-19.

These sessions are instructed by Jak Lewis who is fully insured and DBS checked: https://www.facebook.com/JakLewisTheOnlineFitnessExperience
